  My new go-to spot for satay beef noodle soup!
  
  DECOR: 3/5
  Located inside of Richlane mall, you would probably miss this spot if someone didn't point it out. The restaurant is small and the windows are actually just open facing the inner corridor of this mall building. The place is clean but it's nothing memorable.
  
  FOOD: 5/5
  Take my opinion with a grain of salt because 1. I am not Vietnamese, so I cannot judge what good vs bad Vietnamese food is, and 2. I came here to eat the satay beef noodle soup, which is a chinese variation of a Vietnamese pho.
  
  But yes, their satay beef noodle soup is delicious. If you like a little spice, crushed peanuts, satay sauce, and pho noodles, you will love this dish. It's $9.50 for a small bowl, which is PLENTY. I had to pack over half of my bowl to go (which unfortunately costs 50 cents for a takeout container).
  
  SERVICE: 3/5
  Service was standard for local restaurants in the area. The servers all speak Cantonese, and so do most of their customers. There's a 50 cent charge for takeout containers (that they don't tell you about when you ask for it), and they only accept cash and debit. We came at 4PM so the restaurant was pretty quiet so our food came very quickly.
  
  I'll keep coming here for the DELICIOUS satay but if you're looking for authentic pho, try somewhere else.

  I really love the soup noodles here. My go-to favourite is the ox tail lemongrass soup noodles. The chicken and rice here is also delicious, and so are the curries. Very affordable restaurant, with a good mix of Vietnamese and Thai-style food. Service is curt, but quick.
  It is not a fancy place, but definitely good for a casual hangout, with great food at reasonable prices.

  Giving this place a 3 star at best and I think I'm being quite reasonable.
  
  Space is quite large and can fit a good amount of people. It is found inside a mall-like building where there are other restaurants nearby/beside/across from them. What kind of bothered me was that either the waitress or dishwasher that kept coming in and out of the kitchen area kept running into my chair so I'd always get a bump. Happened a few times until I was fed up and shifted my chair inwards. First of all, customer service, apologize cuz you are disturbing your customer. But wait, guess some people don't care about that? Secondly, BE AWARE of your surroundings? How many times do you need to bump into something before knowing it's there? Hello?
  
  Service was good for an asian restaurant. No check ups like you would get at a western place but they came promptly when we flagged them down. They also weren't too busy unlike the korean place Han Mi Jeong that was packed full of people at around 8pm...so this could be a factor.
  
  On to the food. My mom ordered the House Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup and I got the Laksa Noodle Soup. We decided to also try out this Belachan Shrimp w/ Green Beans dish. For our noodle soups, way more noodles than there were toppings. Disappointing. I don't want a carb overload, there are places that give the right amount of each if not match the amount of noodles to toppings. I expect there to be more toppings especially if I ordered a large. Not just more noodles and skimp out with a few pieces of meat. By few i mean, give or take, 5 half slices of that meat in a large bowl (referring to the Laksa)...the Belachan Shrimp w/ Green Beans to me was a rip off for a lack of better words. A whopping $15 PLUS TAX for nothing so special with the shrimp (like any other asian dish w/ shrimp found). Sure it's seafood and sure maybe it was cooked in Malaysian style but this dish I thought could be cheaper. The flavours weren't bad, a bit salty but nothing spectacular. Honestly the 2 notable things worth mentioning from the food was 1) The broth for the House Special Beef Noodle soup was flavourful and not oily. 2) the Laksa Noodle Soup had 2 different kinds of noodles in it, egg noodles and rice/vermicelli noodles. I don't even know if that's supposed to be the style but I assume so.
  
  Overall my experience wasn't bad enough that I won't give the place another shot. I will, just when I feel like it (probably try their rice dish). There's plenty of other pho places I can go to where I would get my money's worth and enjoy my time.

  Hole in a wall restaurant in a old building complex. I would never have went in if it wasn't from a recommendation tbh. It kind of gives me the asia street food vibe where you seat yourselves and the server's service depends on their mood.
  
  BUT come here for the food, its so tasty that I keep going back. The goat curry and roti is so good, no lie. The portion is pretty big and even 2ppl can't finish it. I've tried their pho and it was ok but the ROTI, you just have to try the crispy flakey goodness.

  Just a few quick notes before the food part of the review. It's World Cup time and the servers were very preoccupied with trying to get the game on the tv. You have to ask for napkins. Compared to other Asian restaurants the service here IMO is slightly worse. They don't have a big restaurant but the service is slow so it makes it harder to overlook.
  
  I came here with my partner and her parents. My partner got the pig feet soup, which from my guess was their version of Bun Bo Hue. Obviously I couldn't tell because the menu is in English and Chinese and didn't obviously say Bun Bo Hue. I got the oxtail soup. First the "Bun Bo Hue" the soup was basically spiced water. The broth didn't retain any of the flavour of tomato that a traditional soup should have. But if we're saying it's not Bun Bo Hue the soup is still on the thin side as the flavour of spice is the only thing that you taste.
  
  My oxtail soup was significantly better. The flavour of the spicy blends well with the lemon grass and creates a more complex and pleasing flavours. The oxtail is tough but is sliced thin so that you're not trying to gnaw on a huge tough piece of meat.
  
  My overall impression is that the food is decent but not anything that's going to impress you or make you come back unless it's convenient. We got other food like spring rolls and chicken wings as well but I feel like the contrast between my partners and my noodle dish highlights the inconsistencies of the restaurant.
  
  Unfortunately this restaurant's food would not bring me back and the service is what it is.
